TO ALL OF OUR GOOD FRIENDS I will be closing Espresso Yourself Music Cafe on Sept. 11th. In the past four and a half years Ben, Chelsea and I have had the awesome opportunity to host music shows here. We have met so many cool people and heard a lot of great music. Even though I have lost most everything trying to keep this place alive I have gained much more in friends and culture and I wanted to personally thank you for that experience and journey.

Health wise, I need to get off of my legs for several months to give my old broken hip a rest. I'll write songs and continue the coffee shop book of characters. I also hope to put together shows at a couple of venues yet to be announced.

When I first opened the café I was concentrating on numbers of lattes I needed to sell and traffic counts out front. These things never really materialized and now they're gone. That's not important. What is important is what I did not plan and count. Friendships of lifetimes. We made them and saw them being made and nurtured. One can't ever loose that! It has been our most sincere pleasure to serve you and share this journey with you.

A SONG I WROTE IN THE CAVE BELOW (my studio in the basement) So I've got my legs up on the chaise in my room And I'm thinking I should write a story song of the café and you It started out as a calculated traffic count Soon it was attracting some cool people The memorable guitar players, songwriters, leuthiers Artists of all kinds, poets, actors, kids, photographers and painters People with servants' hearts and love Many a characters with a quirk or two to write about It is a real people business, faces, voices, backgrounds and stories I've been privileged to have lived 4 ½ years of it Here with Ben, what an influential time of our lives We've soaked in the love and the music, baptized in peace Writing about it in the calm of the cave below I'm a bit sore and tired and need to get physically well I'm gonna think a lot about you'all.

SURGERY
Last week on Tuesday the 6th I had pre-surgery testing and post surgery instructions. On October 7th I will be receiving a total right hip replacement. Then will have a couple weeks on my back followed by a few weeks with the use of a walker then a cane. Hope to see you before surgery and then again sometime in November. Please send me your prayers and good energy. I will receive it.
